The Focus Training Group, Wellbeing Update

News Article Header

Your health, safety and wellbeing have always been a priority and now more than ever, can we ask that you take a few minutes to read the following:

The Virus

Please ensure that you follow the current guidance to keep you and your family as safe as possible during these times.

Please don’t forget that the NHS is still open for ‘normal’ business so please do not hesitate to call 999 in the event of an emergency such as a heart attack, stroke or similar.

Online Safety

We are using the internet, now more than ever for classwork, banking and for staying in contact but please be aware that criminals are aware of this and the number of people getting scammed is at an all time high. Now we all like to think that we are smart enough to spot and avoid a scam but during these times of increased worry and stress there is no doubt that we are more vulnerable.

Please before you click that link, make that transfer, fill in that questionnaire or add that ‘friend’, ask yourself; Does this look legitimate? Do I know that person or organisation? Does this feel right? If not don’t do it.

We must also be aware that terrorist organisations will be using this time when people are potentially vulnerable to recruit and to radicalise.

Please keep this in mind and ask yourself; Do I really know that person? Do I really share that belief? Am I being forced down a road I don’t wish to follow? Again, if there is any doubt, don’t.

Physical and Mental Wellbeing

We are permitted to undertake one form of exercise a day, please do so.

While we all need to keep abreast of the current situation and guidance there is a real potential for ‘bad news overload’, please remember that some news channels and social media often present opinions as fact and sensationalise events.

Our advice is to try to follow one or two legitimate news channels and if you want the ‘facts’ the daily briefing from 10 Downing Street is a good option, usually held at 5pm daily.

Please remember that we are there to support, please contact your Trainer/Assessor who can access our Safeguarding and Prevent team.
