The South West Heat of the Sparks ‘Apprentice Of The Year’ competition took place on 22nd January. We were represented by Oliver Berriman (Plymouth), Keiran Boyce (Cornwall) and Tom Card (Exeter).
All three learners performed extremely well in what was quite a large install in a rather tight time period. The overall winner came from Petroc College but our leaners gave it a great effort, especially Kieran who is only a second year and competed after only 1 weeks’ notice. He was also complimented on his methodical process and neatness by the head judge Darren Oates of EAL.
They were so impressed with the standard of the SW Heat they announced that the lowest scoring participant would have won the North East regional heat.
Steve Ward and Marc Jones accompanied the leaners who also undertook six hours of meet the manufacturer CPD presentations.
