Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician Apprenticeship

The Details

Duration: 33 months + 3 months End Point Assessment (EPA) available upon completion of all gateway units.

Cost: The apprenticeship is set at £19,000 with a £900 + VAT employer contribution.

Employers employing an Apprentice aged 16-21 years old and employ less than 50 employees will receive full government funding and be exempt from paying the employer contribution.

Employers employing an Apprentice aged 16-18 years old will receive a £1,000 government incentive.

Classroom Delivery: You will attend one day a week. Delivery is in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth or Redruth.

On Programme Delivery

Functional Skills: Both maths and English are required at Level 2 or relevant GSCE results.

Qualification: Fire and Security Technician Level 3 (FESS).

  • Scientific Principles and Technologies.
  • Understand Design and Installation Practices and Procedures.
  • Understand How to Plan and Oversee Work Activities.
  • Understand Terminations and Connections of Cables.
  • Understand Inspection, Testing and Commissioning.
  • Understand Fault Diagnosis and Rectification.
  • Choose Fire and Security pathway.

People Involved in Your Apprenticeship

Classroom Tutor: Allocated member of curriculum team.

Training Consultant: A qualified and experienced assessor.

Gateway: On completion of the on-programme learning, the employer, training provider and learner will confirm that the apprentice is ready for the End Point Assessment.
