FAA Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health Course

This 12-hour long qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions and learn about the support/therapy provided by professional health care providers. They will know how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse.

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification meets the requirements for training first aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first aid needs assessment, for example Team Leaders, Supervisors and HR Managers.

How long will the course take?

2 days

Is there an exam?

This qualification is assessed though two written assessment papers and the practical demonstration of the first aid action plan for mental health. Learners must successfully pass all parts of the assessment to be awarded the qualification.

When will I know if I have passed?

Candidates will be put through a written assessment, as well as a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive a NUCO certificate from the Awarding Organisation First Aid Awards Ltd. You will be notified of your results within 2 weeks.
