FAA Award in Emergency First Aid at Work Course

Where a workplace First Aid risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. The learner will attain knowledge and the practical competence required to deal with a range of workplace First Aid situations.

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first aid needs assessment.

What topics will it cover?

Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.

Be able to assess, deal with and report an incident.

Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty (e.g. breathing normally, not breathing normally).

Be able to recognise, manage and provide first aid for injuries in the workplace, which includes burns, bleeding and choking.

How long will the course take?

1 Day.

Is there an exam?

This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/ oral questioning.

When will I know if I have passed?

Results notified within 2 weeks, successful candidates will receive a FAA accredited Level 3 certificate. Course certification lasts three years.

What books will I need?

No books are required.
