This EAL Level 3 course is aimed at practicing electricians, designers, managers and supervisors with the appropriate competency or responsibility for the following installations:

Domestic; Part P competent or similar

Commercial; Registered Electrical Contractor

On-Street; HERS Competence

Candidates must have a good understanding of the requirements of the current edition of the BS7671 Wiring Regulations.

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at practicing electricians who wish to move into this sector.

Candidates must have a good knowledge of the latest edition of BS7671, of inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations, and are required to sign a statement of competence.

Candidates must provide evidence that they are at least 18 years old

Candidates must provide evidence that they are a practicing electrician and hold one of the following:

Completed Installation Electrician Apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification
Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker
Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services
Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification.
Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings
Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification
EAL Building Services Engineering (Level 3) – Electrotechnical Installation
Equivalent historical qualifications
ECS Gold Card for a Domestic Electrician, JIB Electrician, or Approved Electrician Card

How long will the course take?

2 days – 1 day a week for 2 weeks.

Recognising the types, modes and requirements for electric vehicle charging

Design, preparation and assessing suitability of earthing and supply types

Inspection and testing of electric vehicle charging installations

Financial incentives and how they are applied

Certification, commissioning and notification of electric vehicle charging equipment

Is there an exam?

Yes. One multiple choice on line exam.

How much will it cost?

£449+VAT per person including, registration, exams and assessments.

When will I know if I’ve passed?

On the day. EAL certificate will follow.
