ACS Initial Assessments Overview

Various assessments are available upon successful completion of which will allow candidates to undertake work on domestic natural gas installations and relevant appliances.

Who are these assessments aimed at?

Candidates looking to get qualified to work on domestic natural gas installations.

Pre-requisites

Candidates need to have completed our Domestic Gas Foundation Training Programme or equivalent qualification.

Please note that proof of previous qualifications will be required to confirm your booking.

Assessments available

CCN1 Core Gas Safety – This is a pre-requisite for all other appliance assessments. Three days of practical and theory examinations required for gas safety and legislation.

CENWAT 1 Domestic Natural Gas Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters – Half day practical assessment.

CKR1 Domestic Natural Gas Cookers – Half day practical assessment.

HTR1 Domestic Natural Gas Fires – 
Half day practical assessment.

DAH1 Domestic Natural Gas Warm Air Heaters – Half day installation and servicing assessment.

LAU1 Domestic Gas Tumble Dryers – Half day practical assessment.

What books will I need?

For the ACS Initial Package candidates are given a free Gas Safety Manual.

What’s Next?

Successful completion of the appropriate assessments will allow candidates to apply for Gas Safe registration.
