Overview

The Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3 will allow you to build a strong foundation in accounting principles, systems, and tools. This program is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours for a successful career in accountancy and finance.

This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals who are new to the field of accounting and aspire to become accountants. It provides a valuable opportunity for learners to progress to the next stage of their career, even if they have limited experience.

Also this apprenticeship provides valuable growth prospects for individuals currently employed in positions within an accountancy department or finance function.

Job Roles

This apprenticeship is suitable for a wide range of roles including Assistant Accountant, Trainee Accounting Technician, Accounts Clerk, Cashier Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk or Sales Ledger Clerk.

Career Progression

An apprentice’s journey doesn’t end when their apprenticeship has finished. The next steps could be to progress onto our AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting Level 4.

The Details

Duration: 18 months with End Point Assessment (EPA) available from month 12

Cost: The apprenticeship is set at £8000 with a £400 + VAT employer contribution
Employers employing an Apprentice aged 16-18 years old and employ less than 50 employees will receive full government funding and be exempt from paying the employer contribution

Employers employing an Apprentice aged 16-18 years old will receive a £1,000 government incentive

Classroom Delivery: You will attend one day a week in our Plymouth training centre.

On Programme Delivery

Functional Skills: Both maths and English are required at Level 2 or relevant GSCE results

Registration: for AAT, exams and text books

Qualification: AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting

Units Covered and AAT Unit Exams - *Units are only assessed in the synoptic assessment and not on programme
