City & Guilds 2396 Design Overview
City & Guilds 2396 Design is a theory based course is intended for those who have responsibility for the design, specification, installation and testing process of electrical installations. It will provide delegates with the necessary information and knowledge to design and erect electrical installations. And as a Level 4 qualification is ideal progression for those who have responsibility for design and supervision.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at those who will have responsibility for designing, supervising, installing and testing electrical installations. Candidates should ideally hold the City & Guilds 2391 or the 2394/2395 and must have a good working knowledge of the current wiring regulations and ideally hold the City & Guilds 2382 qualification.
How long will the course take?
5 days (9am to 4pm) plus a 40 hour project and a 3 hour open book written exam.

What books will I need?
You will need the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Guidance Note 3, and On-Site Guide.

Yes, there is an externally set 3 hour open book written exam and an externally set design project (40 hours home study).

When will I know if I’ve passed?
The exam is externally marked by City & Guilds. The project is centre marked.
