We are dedicated to service a range of industries and job roles, offering training and also employment opportunities. The Focus Training Group consistently deliver exceptional quality apprenticeship and short course training across five dedicated centres in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth and Redruth.

The Focus Training Group are looking for an experienced Gas and Plumbing Trainer/Assessor to work delivering bespoke programmes. The successful candidate will be based in Plymouth. Travel to other centres may be required and travel will be paid at 45p per mile.

You will be required to initially teach our apprentices to achieve Level 3 Apprenticeship in Gas Engineering and Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician with an opportunity to progress onto teaching commercial clients.

The successful applicant will need to be Oftec qualified and hold a current ACS accreditation.

It would be advantageous for the applicant to have worked on both domestic and commercial appliances.

Extensive Gas & Plumbing experience is required with a minimum of 5 years on the tools.

An assessor qualification is preferred but not essential as training will be given. We will also look at putting the successful candidate through their Education and Training award. An Enhanced DBS check will be required.

What will your role as a Trainer/Assessor look like?

To communicate effectively and professionally across all brands and centres.

To provide support for all learners in compliance with The Focus Training Groups policies and procedures.

Teach learners undertaking Level 3 Apprenticeship in Gas Engineering and Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician with an opportunity to progress onto teaching commercial clients..

Ensure that your knowledge is current to meet the technical and assessment requirements of the awarding organisations.

To hold and work towards relevant qualifications as required.

Ensure knowledge is up to date with current legislation and working practices within the trade.

To motivate learners to ensure success.

The successful applicant with need to undergo a check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as a condition of the job offer.

A teaching/assessing qualification is preferred but not essential.

Applicants will need relevant industry qualifications (NVQ 3 or equivalent) plus at least five years ‘on the tools’. 

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £37,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
